I am new contributor just bought my first Chim. I have read that the engines need new cams at over 50K has anybody had this problem or is it just the specialist companies drumming up new business?
I know these cars leak but how bad is it as I have just spent a few days drying out as previous owner left it out for several weeks. Comments appreciated

The cams have been known to need replacing - as do clutches. You will know when the cam is gone as the first indication is the noise from it like a tapping from the topend.

In my experience Chimaeras don't actually leak that much but they are all different.

Type leaks into the search and read !! Then start hunting down the problems.

Good luck and welcome

Mine leaked like a goodun. Lovely moist carpet and mold up the sides.

One new roof later (and £750 lighter) it was dry as a bone.
