I don't drink that often maybe once every 2 weeks but when I do the cycle goes like this.

Wake up still feeling drunk around 6 hours after falling asleep feel almost euphoric.
Do something productive like clean my car or my house.
Feel progressively worse just after midday.
Feel too ill to eat in the evening.
Fall asleep very early evening.
Wake up next day feeling hungover, and majorly depressed About anything.
Continues until the evening, may feel well enough to eat now.
Depression subsides late evening or next day.

If i drink Friday my weekend is written off. I'm seriously thinking of just sticking to 4 shandys or something on a night out. I carnt be assed to waste my weekends feeling st anymore. Maybe I'm just not a drinker i never remember having a 2 day hangover if at all, and certainly didnt get depressed. FYI I'm not a depressed person. But the feeling of being down and generally feeling like a sack of st is really putting me off booze.

I drink beer mostly , do i need to switch to wine or something?

In recent years I've found myself feeling rather blue after a heavy night, normally late in the day. I put it down to the booze mucking up your chemicals. Mind you hangovers have become two-day affairs now if I've had a heavy one. The first day of feeling tired / hungover, the second day of feeling emotionally drained / blue.

I think its just a sign of getting old, I was never like this until a few years ago when I turned thirty!

Alcohol is a depressant. If it's impact on you is that bad, you either need to moderate your intake or stop drinking.

I gave up seven or eight years ago (got fed up with hangovers) and don't miss it at all.

Yes, though normally immediately the day after with hangover, not a day delayed. I find the stage after the hangover starts clearing is great for listening to music - it feels more emotional!

Yes.

Par for the course if you consume lots of drink.

Just either A: not drink or B: feel a bit rubbish but realise its the booze making you feel this way.

Alcohol doesn’t agree with everyone.

Some people are fine when they are drunk, but feel awful afterwards. Some people are aholes when they are drunk but fine the next day when they are sober. Some lucky people know their limits and stay within them. They can enjoy drinking in moderation, without suffering the downsides.

It isn’t compulsory to get so drunk that you cause problems for yourself or others, so find out what works for you and stick to that.

Drinks doesn't cause one to be depressed. It's what goes on in your life that may have an effect. Why do people blame drink for everything? It's like guns, it doesn't kill, it's the people who pull the trigger that do.

If you have a negative mindset to life then that's how you will view life. All negative. It doesn't have to be that way.

Had to moderate my intake pretty drastically after several episodes of "The Fear!"

Usual hangover but over a period of about 3 days it felt like the world may end at any moment!

Now dont mix drinks, stick to 'weak' largers and know when to call it a day. Also you couldnt pay me to do a shot with you!

For me it depend on what I've been drinking. Champagne (not that I drink it often) makes me feel a bit down. I usually avoid it completely now.

Yup, I get it too.

As they say; getting drunk is just borrowing happiness from tomorrow.

Thats post acute withdrawal. Google the phrase kindling.

It's why hangovers get worse the older you get.

Sorry, but if you are capable of more than staggering to the bathroom, pissing in the rough direction of the toilet and then returning to your pit to groan in self pity then you were just tipsy and couldn't possibly be hungover.

I get it to a varying degree depending on what/how much I drink. Indeed it does get worse with age...

I think they call it the "beer fear"?

Some people are aholes when they're sober. rolleyes

I found the chemicals in lager gave me momentous headaches, wine much less so. The reasons for the comedowns afterwards are many, blood sugar levels up and down and allsorts...
