Does anyone have a recommendation for a Seat/VW independent service place in the Southampton area?

When I had a Toledo I used to use Sundays Hill in Hedge End who seemed fine but now Independent have opened locally and there is Monks in Chilworth as well.

Sundays Hill - http://www.sundayshillmotcentre.com/
Independent - http://www.independentvwservicing.co.uk/
Monks - http://www.monksautosouthampton.co.uk/

Found another one in Eastleigh - http://www.independentgarageservices.co.uk/index.p...

I am looking to buy a 2010 Leon 1.4 TSI which will need its 4th service so after an idea of the cost. Has anyone used the above recently or any recommendations for anyone else?

I've not yet been here, but asking phoning and emailing various companies recently, these guys were the most knowledgeable, most helpful, most friendly and the most reasonably priced. I will be using them as and when I need to, with the Golf GTI.

Very pleased with them myself, fixed everything the incompetent dealer failed to, and at a decent price - on my Octavia vRS.

I used Independent in Hedge End when the dealer (in Botley. I'm sure you can work out who it was!) failed to diagnose a gearbox fault despite having the car for 3 months. Independent worked out what it was, quoted for a price to fix it and got the car back to me within two hours.

In the end I had to have the work done at the dealer due to the warranty, and then I used JKM after that as I generally got upgrades at the same time!

For servicing on my SEAT's, I have used my next door neighbour for years. He's now taken over Colin Moston (servicing) in Horton Heath http://www.colinmostoncars.co.uk/contact.php 023 8069 2321 - I can highly recommend him and for those who know me and my cars, you know I'm a fussy bugger!

Seems there are quite a few options to choose from.

As far as the guy at Colin Monston goes, I assume he is just a general servicing place compared to the 'specialists' who have access to the diagnostics, etc. which is the main reason for using them?

Brookspeed more of a performane-oriented and tuning company though?

And what's wrong with JKM? To be fair I only used them twice before I had to sell the car, but they were mint both times. Sooo much better than the main dealer!

Brookspeed do all the "normal" garage items as well. I would much prefer to take it to Brookspeed, a company with many, many years of motor sport derived experience and technology are a much better bet than JKM, a company that has a "space" with a lift and a computer providing remaps.......

Just my opinion.

Well they did a hybrid clutch for me (to handle the extra power) inside a day, and a dump valve fit in about 20 minutes.

+1 for JKM for me. Great service. Recently had a fairly major injector related issue and they diagnosed and reworked superbly. Great communication and friendly.
