997 s 5th Gear's best super car of 2004 :)
Discussion
Don't get me wrong, I'm Porsche through and through. I own a 911 turbo, and have an April build on a 997 Carrera S.
Quite how the 997 beats the Noble M400 in the 'fast' car category is simply beyond me. My friend has one and it makes a powerkit 996 turbo feel like a 2.0i Sierra(with a turbo technics upgrade
).

I think you're missing the point a bit there Si'
I think the Porker won on its merits as a fantastic alrounder rather than as a track car.
The Noble may well be faster, but is built from parts from Fords bin, and will never be as usable or practicle as the Porker.

I didn't see it, but was commenting on Patrick's post about the 'fast' category. Not 'usable' or 'practical'.
Regardless of it's components source, the Noble is a production car which is 'faster' and cheaper than the 997.
It reminds me of the snobbery of the industry which saw the F355 beat the 993 turbo in performance reviews, despite the 911 blowing it away on the road and track.
Built from parts from fords bin? i own and have owned both cars you are talking about, i would only comment on a subject that i know something about, i like the fact that my M400 is useable and pratical, but i dont use the car to go to sainsburys in, so your probally right on the pratical bit, real drivers appreiciate what lee noble has done with them old parts from fords bin and would recommend you drive one, better performace than most super cars & costing 3 times as much, whats that old sayng, keep quite and let people think your a fool, or speak and prove you are.
