I remember a recent thread but can't find it.

Thinking of selling my v12v and wondering if any of you guys had good experiences?

I asked Works for a bid and was not impressed.

I will call Rachel Stanton at AM Cheltenham who i had a good contact with in the past.

Any other idea? Wasn't there a Gavin at Grange somewhere who was good too?

I traded mine in to buy something else from them. What they offered was about right. If you are selling outright to a dealer, I wouldn't expect as much...

Probably a good time to sell if you have a V12V that will retail for sub 90k.

What's the spec/miles/age?

2010 / storm black / 7.5k miles / carbon seats.. Have been in contact with HR Owen, Works, but don't like what they have to offer. Spoke to v12Woolie ooff line who had very good advice.

Car is fantastic and it has been a tremendous ownership but must reduce the amount of cars..

Put it on as a private sale. I sold mine to an AML dealer for not a lot. They put a 10k mark-up on the car and sold it within a week. Put in on in the classifieds for their bid plus 5k and then wait. Good luck.

PS: I regret selling mine but the gap between a V12V and a V12VS was 75k and i found that excessive. That gap will come down as the V12V will firm up and the 12VS has further to fall.

As above £10k seems about the normal margin for a dealer at this price point - so have a look at what dealers are selling them for and then keep going until you get a bid of £10k less than that.

Why are you selling it - only seems like you've had it 5mins?

Gavin at Grange Brentwood offered a very good price for my Vantage so worth a call for sure.

£10K markup perhaps but nowhere near £10K margin. Overheads, prep, warranty, VAT will diminish that to £5K or less in profit.

When you get to £75K plus for an Aston experience has shown me that people want to buy from a main dealer rather than privately.

Yup, agree with what you have said - markup not margin, my poor choice of words. smile

Well let's call it £10K gross margin which doesn't include the cost of sales and £5K net margin. That way we're both right smile

I sold my V12 to the same dealer as Hornbaek, in fact the dealer offered me his car when I was looking, having done a little research on here.

They added 10k to the bid price of my 61 plate and it sold quickly, but their asking price was about 5k higher than I paid for it about 7 months earlier....

Agreed if you can handle the potential nonsense a private sale seems to bring, go for it. Convenience for me when I was looking to buy, and when ones looking to sell meant I favoured dealers.

Incidentally the price I sold for was the best of 3, which after some haggling were in a 2.5k band.
