Supercharged S
Discussion
Paul,
I'm glad the car has not left the county, (I live in Writtle, Chelmsford) good man!!
The car is one of the sister cars to my S2, the chassis numbers are nearly identical from memory. It was built in May 1990 and is one of the last S2's. My S2 has recently begun full restoration.
Jas.

She goes very well considering i was spoilt by my first TVR being a Griff 500.
I wouldn,t say i was still running in the supercharger, i just take it easy, or at least until the engine is warm anyway
. For a 1990 S2 she is in remarkable condition, (one of the reasons i bought it i might add) and the only part i,ve had to replace is the clutch master cylinder.
Only one small niggle which i intend to look at when i come home (as i,m currently working in the sates for 2 months) is the steering seems a little woolley once you reach 80mph, and the slightest bump in the road gives you orrible bump steer
The front tyres seem worn un-evenly on the insides so i,ll look into steering camber, toe in etc and maybe suspension setups, otherwise i love the car.

Imagine the normal burble you get from a TVR then add the noise of 1000 whistles at a rave and thats about it.Bloody noisy.
If anyone wants a drive I have the key to Pauls house and garage while he is in America,he gets back this weekend so be quick.....only joking Paul,Steves already crashed it

Well i think i've finally run her in.
Over the past year i haven't used her too much, (as dry use only) plus i've been doing far to much
so she's still only got 26,000 genuine miles on the clock.
I've had all the steering geometry, suspension and ride height set up correctly and she now drives like a dream (all be it a bit of an animal).
I had to replace the clutch slave cylinder last month, which in hind sight was probably the cause of the Master cylinder failing last year. (but hey we live and learn).
She was recently rebooted with 4 luvely new "Toyo Proxes" and now sticks to the road like shit to a blanket.
I am currently modifying the Ice, and may even think about sqeezing a few extra ponies out of her.
When my new garage is finally built,
me thinks it will house a rather mad Griff 500 as well. (hopefully).

Due to shitty work patterns that my company has now imposed upon me, i reckon i will only be able to drive my beloved Supercharged S2 every 2 months.
She deserves better, so unless i can sort out my shift patterns, i am afraid i may have to sell her.
I was hoping of hanging on to her for another couple of years yet.
I took her for a short spin this morning, 31/03/06 and fell in love again. (Roof off, cold air, but who cares), had lots of fun.
Anyway having returned from my brief windy trip this morning i am still unsure as what to do
Dangerous, where are you when i need you.

Blimey... a rare poster returns.
I remember following you and Dave from the Fox & Raven in Chelmsford in my S... one of us had flames shooting out the back. I seem to recall you said... "it's not running quite right.."
