Hi Peeps...Well after being in hospital yesterday with a kidney infection and being up most of the night and early morning urinating blood i needed a Wedge fix this morning...When i removed the cover to my horror the little chip in the screen that i was going to get sorted on Saturday has become an 8" crack...So it looks like a new screen is in order..I have spoken to Glassman, Well his associate and unfortunately Paul is on holiday for two weeks and the other fellow is mainly the chip repairer...Bollax!

Am I right in thinking Mobile Windscreens 0117 304 2000 had a stock of wedge glass? They were at BBWF a few years ago.

Mark. I've had this job done by Paul the Glassman as I was telling you the other day. I just want to add that who ever replaces the glass for you, when you take the old screen out, take a good look at the fibreglass underneath, because mine was pitted and needed some fiberglass to patch the section the glass sits on. If you skip that and put the new glass in, you may end up withn a similar problem or the glass not making a good seal. I've still got the pot of fiberglass in my garage somewhere should you need to borrow. All the best.

PS. Sorry to hear you've been unwell. I hope you recover real soon.

Tony. TCB.

Thanks for the info and well wishes..Im over the worst of it..For now...I have spoken with David who is Paul the Glassman's associate but he only repairs chips...Paul is away for two weeks so i will wait until he gets back...I will see if my insurance covers me for a replacement as i don't want some joker making a right mess of it...My screen has the trim around it so i would want that to be replaced as well.

At the minute i don't want to drive it as it could get worst, Although there is a chance that it won't...I will check the condition of the fibreglass and re-glue the vinyl on the top of the dash while its out....Cheers...Ziga

Is it passenger side or drivers?

If drivers side then you could get pulled for it, if Passenger side then I've seen a lot worse get ignored by the BiB.

Hope you and the wedge are 100% soon mate.

Pulled for a cracked screen, really?
One of our guys drove a Warrior around with a crack that ran the full width of the screen, for three months, up and down the country and nobody batted an eyelid.
He got a new scren fitted and then drove the truck into a tree a month later, writing it off biggrin

Actually i think the recent cracking was down to me farting about with the sun visors..Putting downward pressure on the screws may of started the process off!...rolleyes

I read that wrong the first time Zig.

Thought you'd cracked the screen by farting with the roof on...

Get well soon mate.

Cheers chaps...I think the vent in the passenger door was blocked and thats what caused my expanding foof to crack the screen...Mind you i had to chase a load of hoodies off last night as they were climbing all over the Wedge...I managed to catch one of them and i said.."WTF are you mothers doing"?..And he said.."Well bruv we erd dat you got crack on ya screen innit"..So i kicked him in the balls and sent him on his way!
