As the title really which is correct AJP V8 or AJP8 ?
Opinions please Facts even better I've seen the engine called both but I wondered which is correct

I believe that the Speed Six was originally called the AJP6.

No one's gonna argue as long as it's not an RV8 or an LS.

I think most 4.5s had the AJP8 fuel rail, only the very early cars didn't. Mine doesn't, much to my disappointment when I discovered it.

I'd rather have an uprated auxiliary shaft than an embossed fuel rail - in fact anyone want to swap?

How does the uprated auxiliary shaft differ from the original, besides the fact it's "uprated"?

Apparently from late 98 or early 99 the auxiliary shaft was uprated, so that the issues with failing Woodruff keys was significantly abated. If you lose power steering drive it's mildly irritating, however lose oil/water pump drive and you are royally ******.

Good question. There's only one version listed on the parts sites, so perhaps there was no change after all?
