What's my gear worth?

Thinking of trading in/trading up my gear. So, what's it worth?

Fender strat, made in Japan 93/94, blue fotoflame, mint
Epiphone LP standard, mint
Washburn F9 acoustic, which I reckon is 000 size, also great nick
Marshall MG50DFX
Orange Crush 15R

Your strat's worth £350-450 maybe 5 on a good day. Epi LP a few hundred, 2 or 3 depending. Dunno about the rest.

No way the Strat is worth 500 trade in, I got 325 trading mine in against a Clapton Strat last year. Only got just over 500 trade in on a USA Tele.

Whether that was a good deal or not would depend on what you paid for the Clapton Strat. I would say that if you paid the same as a customer not trading anything, then that was not a good deal. Depends on the condition of your MIJ Strat too, of course.

i've always found a week on ebay gets a much better price for any guitar gear i have sold compared to trading in.
even car boots can get suprisingly good prices.

Trade-ins are a problem area for retailers, on the one hand they want the sale (of the new guitar) but on the other they then have to sell the trade-in, and the customer probably doesn't realise that if it's a current model then the retailer could buy a brand new one for maybe 60% of what the customer originally paid for it.
