PROTECH SHOCKS,WHAT SETTINGS.

Hi folks, just purchased some Protech shocks with the updated 400/335 springs, reading through previous posts there are quite a few variations on the settings,but I guess some of these are on the softer springs. What should I start off with,it will be for road use only, also is there anything suspension wise that you should also always change to get the full benefit out of a new set up, or not bother unless obviously worn.

I have the 400/325 springs and I have 7 clicks from soft at the front and 11 clicks from soft at the rear.

(That is correct for me by the way, I've found that more clicks on the rear than that of the front, which does surprise me but it works for me).

I'm not 100% sure that you can ask generally about others settings, when I ordered my protechs I think the valving was matched to the chosen springs rates. It was a while ago though!

I have the Protech's fitted on my 450, took some time to make sure the ride height was correct. Seems now I'm getting the rears, mainly nearside bottoming out which may indicate I'm running them too soft. Interesting 11 and 7 settings, might well check mine this afternoon can't remember what they got set last time.

My 7/11 setting that works for me is for the boggo standard dampers (400/325) that are advertised on the protech website. No custom anything. So if the OP has the same standard dampers, it could be a starting point from which he adjusts to his individual requirements.
