I don't expect much sympathy for this but I need to vent.

This car was for sale privately in Wrexham a few weeks ago for about £6.5k. I was on the verge of arranging to go and see it. I know I would have bought it if I'd gone but I need to replace my daily driver too and I really don't have room for four cars.

Even before I saw this ad I KNEW this was going to happen and another one would sail over the horizon. I'm a fool... aaaaggghh.

Crikey! If that car is half as good as it looks then 6.5K was an absolute megasteal, and no wonder some dealer snapped it up to make a turn.

If it is any consolation I said no to a 7K Fulvia in good nick about three years ago. Even worse, I was offered a DB6 Superleggera for 35K in 2003. I would have had to borrow 10K at the time and decided not to buy. Big mistake.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

To ease your pain, Hills of Leytonstone (an old classic car dealer long since gone) had a 246 Dino up for £6995 back in the early '80s.

Instead of using my head, buying it and storing it in the garage until now.



I bought an MG Metro for more or less the same amount.

I did the same thing in the early eighties, slightly tatty DB6 for £6,000 or shiny ex demo RS1600i for the same amount. Ford instead of Aston Martin, what was I thinking !!

I might need to affect an adenoidal voice to say this, but my understanding was that the DB6 was the first Aston to drop the Superleggera construction. Or were very early ones Superleggera and the later ones not?

I'm completely willing for my knowledge to be corrected!

So Wiki says, but you still see DB6s badged "Superleggera". Whether this is kosher or not I don't know, as I know Jack about Astons.

Your not alone, I did the same thing with an XK140 for £12k, thought it must be a rust bucket, although I was told it wasn't. A month later a friend is telling me about this lovely XK140 he bought and he's always around to remind me!

Don't remind me - every day at home, I look at the "Ferrari 308" dresser base I bought instead of using the money towards the right choice being the car in question.

That's lovely. I don't think the dealer will have trouble selling that, even at that price. That's probably not very helpful to the OP.

Does anyone know if the back seats usable for adults and if the Zagatos have the same seats?
