I changed mine to crossed drilled and im very happy with them, can't say i can tell any difference in the braking though, though they do look nice

I read through all the PH threads on discs and went with these:

You choose what option you want, i just wanted cross drilled, they were very helpful and also supplied me with Mintex pads too

I took advice from Mat Smith, as I use my car for track days. And money was tight. Remember, I do track days, so brake a lot harder and later than I woud on the road.
First upgrade Mat did after my 80 bhp upgrade to 5 litres was simply to slot in some Ferodo DS2500 pads. Substantial improvement in stopping power, and fade from repeated hard braking (as also experienced in mountain pass driving) was completely eliminated. I found them fine on the road too, not everyone agrees.
Second upgrade, courtesy of Phazed, was to change the front disks to 324mm Ford Focus RS disks with Bremsport calipers and racing pads. I use Hawk pads, others, such as Pagid and Carbon Lorraine, are available and well liked. This gives me awesome stopping power on track, especially since I swapped the plain ventilated disks for 12-grooved black diamond disks. 6-grooved are also available. Mat doesn't like drilled disks, as he has known the drilling to cause disks to fail on race cars. NB the racing pads do tend to glaze a bit on slow road driving, and squeak unpleasantly in town traffic. A couple of hard stops clears it.
Did a track evening at Cadwell yesterday. Twisty track with a lot of braking and a hard stop at the bottom of a hill. Brakes were awesome.
Next upgrade will be to keep the rears the standard size, but pop in some black diamond disks as my TVR disks are foo barred, and my first set of DS2500 pads need replacing. I will stick with the same DS2500 pads.
For road use, if you don't feel the urge to spend a grand on bigger brakes, I would first try some better pads, and second, or at the same time if your current disks are worn, try some black diamond or similar grooved (but not drilled) disks. I wouldn't go to the expense of bigger calipers.

Hi QBEE, thanks for the offer to try your brakes I found your email via piston heads in my junk box this morning, as you can see from my modifiying thread you have convinced me the best way forward is to change rather than mod so I will see if I can find one with big brakes already, I hinting along the lines of more cc then brakes and anything else I want is a bonus.
Always amazes me, i sell loads of AP Racing part no's for T350, Saggy, Cerbera etc, but i have 1 set of Chim/Griff pads in stock, and they have a pile of dust on them, but people with cheaper brake systems actually have more to gain, disc style configuration is pretty much irrelevant, but pad material is CRUCIAL to what performance you will receive at the other end of your brake pedal.
You could put a full AP Racing system on your car, buy the cheapest pads you can find, and your system would be less effective than the originals with top end pads and fluid.
