Multi Car Insurance for Unusual Set of Vehicles/Use

Looking to try and save some wedge on insurance, multi car seems the way to go. Thing is, as with most PHers, I don't have your common or garden fleet of vehicles.

NV200 van used for own business (pet food deliveries).
Almera Tino that doubles up as family transport and business use.
Triumph Vitesse on a limited mileage classic policy.
and a Jap import 300ZX also on a limited mileage classic policy.

Currently paying around £1200 in total for the 4 separate policies, 2 drivers ~ me and Mrs H67.

Can anyone with similarly left field requirements recommend a company that could help.

Have you been believing TV ads again?

A multicar policy can save you a bit of admin, sure. It might also save you a bit of money - but ONLY if that particular insurer happens to be keen on insuring that particular vehicle/use.

From the insurer's point of view, it's a great lock-in to stop you looking around the competition...

Just popped you a PM with a brokers number.

I've got a single multi-vehicle policy (not just multiple policies with a discount). Works out about £100 more than I can insure one of the vehicles for and I've got 3 on it at the moment (have had up to 5).

I've had my fleet on multi for years and often add short term cars and get refunds as it's all about decreases liabilities, none are specialist vehicles though really so only went with Admiral, be worth a chat with them though I would expect

Ahh yes, good old Admiral. My wife had a prang a few years ago, we rang up Admiral to find that they had cancelled the insurance 9 months before without telling us.

Took a lot of fighting and going through phone records etc to sort that one out.

Never again.

I've twice done the Admiral thing for multicar and IME, it never works well beyond the first year.

Me, too, please. I've got five cars now and the juggling of renewals, three NCDs, wondering whether to SORN, etc is getting to be a proper PITA.

Tradex might underwrite that on one of their home fleet type policies (not a motor trade policy before people get their torches out)

Just for a laugh, I've put our "main" three cars into Admiral's multicar policy online quote.

On separate policies, the total premium this year is £230. Yes, for three cars.

Admiral's multicar? £365.

Kind of you, guys. No, really. But...

Being in the trade, I would not Insure my worst enemy with Tradex and would not trust anyone in the trade who tells you they're a good Insurer.

Had one car written off earlier this year and the whole process was swift and easy tbh, this is the only time I've made a claim with them but had no hassles or issues with it and from informing them to payout being in my account it was only about 3wks. Guess I may have been lucky

I have had a multi with Admiral for 3 years on 3 of our cars, last year made the first claim for many years, they were fantastic, they will also add my 21 year old son on to the range rover for a couple of weeks, only complaint is they wont cover my classics.

Fair enough, I'm not involved in the insurance industry and don't really know much about them other than that they cover all sorts (they provide me with a trade policy which after your comments I hope never to have to claim on!)

Same for me mostly, had admiral up until last summer and moved elsewhere due to a more competitive quote. Was with Admiral for 6 years, made one claim with them which was smooth and quick and did not have any hassle with them.

Same here - wrote a car off with Admiral a few months ago and the process was fast, smooth and fair. No fighting with them, they offered fair retail money for the car straight off the bat and settled by bank transfer before it was even in the custody of a salvage dealer!
