Just had a shot in one with the auto box. Really impressed. Felt really good batting up and down in sport +.
Quick question re manual box cars - do they feel set up for a spot of easy heel and toeing at all ?
Many thanks.

I have the auto but tried the manual. Heel and toe was no problem especially in sport or sport+ as the throttle is a bit more sensitive.

I've never know a BMW with bad pedal positioning....

Can confirm, pedal positioning is great.

Best driving position of any small car on the market too.

Thanks folks - being tall I was liking the driving position. it had manual seat adjustment so that maybe helped the low height achieveable.

In terms of the manual box itself, is it shorter of throw than say an E92 M3 box ?
I guess it wont be s2000 or mx5 levels of snick-snick... but still pretty good ??

Many thanks

It's not an S2000 throw, its longer.

It's actually fairly long, I think it's the same box they use on all their models, certainly the same as the F20 320d xdrive I borrowed.

That said, it's not a bad gearbox, and has a satisfying clunk on engagement. It certainly didn't put me off the driving experience. It suits the cars warm nature.
