Sold my car earlier through autotrader. Interestingly for the week it was advertised I only got two offers, and they were both from the trade. It was PDK with FPSH, all the toys, and a years Porsche warranty on the car and it has never missed a beat in the 15 months I owned it. The price was right too at under 40k. Plus it was in the best colour.....guards red of course.

It's replacement.

I have been considering an F430 (in red obviously, or a 997.2 Turbo. What would you go for and why? I did even consider a manual 997.1 Turbo, but I love PDK.

I'd go 997.2 Turbo S, the closest thing to a supercar and usable on a daily basis. F430 tempting, depends on your proposed usage perhaps...

You've been paying too much attention to page 3 then lol

I only deleted the ad a few hours ago too. The mileage was 35600.

Cheap car, and it will be advertised at a dealers now for a lot more.

Looked a lovely car, suspect to see it advertised in a forecourt sometime soon.

36k miles - bloody hell , what was it a taxi laugh

Well done on the sale - good luck on the search for a F430

He owned it for 15 months, he didn't say the car was 15 months old. If it was a late 2011/ early 2012 car, that is a pretty average mileage for a daily use car IMO.

I was being a little sarcastic, all said and done it would have made a great private buy

Get a 997.1 Mezger with manual

Will be the next P to sky rocket in value in my utterly biased and fanciful opinion

Why not consider a Gallardo LP 560 too ? Worth throwing into the mix in my view. I don't think the turbo will feel like you've bought a new car as interior is identical. Yes as a drive its a perfect storm. Fezza and Lambo are both a real event though and have far more feel good factor to them - I love both of the Italian cars especially in coupe form. DD go for turbo. As a weekend car with occasional cross continental jaunts the Italians win hands down. Can't go wrong with any of them TBH as long as you buy cars with good provenence.

Sorry if I'm a bit late to this party, but before you jump into a F430 from a 997, please give them a lot of thought. They are very different cars. I'm running both at the moment, but IMO my 997.2 CS2 is the much better car and I'm close to making the decision to part ways with my F430, I just haven't really bonded with it.

Will you do a lot of mile in it? If not the F430 is a good shout. Its no where near the build of the 997 and Turbo will be faster, but the 430 really is a lot of fun. Worth a go if you've not had one before and very low depreciation, easy to move on when you're bored etc.

I would consider a 997.2 C2S a better car than a 997.1 Turbo personally.

I've had a 997.1 Turbo, 997.2 Turbo S and now only have naturally aspirated 911s. I haven't really thought about that, but it must mean something...

Never driven a F430, but personally the thought of an 'old' Ferrari in red would make me think your office's lottery syndicate came up trumps and that was as imaginative as you could get. In fairness, more or less any modern Ferrari portrays that image for me, and for that reason they don't appeal to me at all. Appreciate for some owning a Ferrari = "i made it!" and i may just be weird.

To the people who didn't own their F430's for very long at all, what was the reason?

I am considering selling my 996 turbo in the near future and getting an F430.

It would be for a weekend toy, daily characteristics don't matter as such.
