My boot latch does not work when I depress the button on boot lid (it used to). I have tried adjusting keep to release pressure. Is there a fuse related to this?

Does it open with the fob/ECU
My last roadster did this but opened on the fob, it needed a new button assembly in the boot, not a big job and DIYable.

Does it open with the switch by your manual gear stick? or are you Sequential?

Hi Graham my 2006 played up with the silver button but it did open with the switch by the gear lever AND with the key fob button.
The key fob should open your boot

I had the same problem recently, my boot would not open with any method. Finally managed to get it opened and sprayed the latch and electronics with WD40 and now it will only open using the button next to the gear stick and not the fob or silver button. I'm going to take it apart in the next few weeks to have a better look.

You could try WD40 as that could dry up some some of the electronics and get it working again...

Fairly common problem this.

First establish whether the issue is mechanical or electrical...
Stick your head inside the left area of the boot and try to release the flap (by whatever button).
Can you hear the actuator moving (it's obvious)?
If it does the issue will be the cable mechanism/spring.
(WD40 is a starting point IF it's just dirt). If that doesn't work you can replace the whole cable (easy job).

If actuator doesn't operate then the issue is electrical. Could be the solenoid blown (but unlikely) probably just a fuse.
Check the manual for the exact fuse number.

^^^^ you must have missed the part where he said he can open it using the center console switch.

Oh, so I did.
Please ignore everything I have said (it's ok, my wife already does this).

Book says boot release fuse is F46 5A, not the case. Fuse was fine and it was a 20A so not sure if correct....

As the boot opens using the cabin switch, we know the latch solenoid works fine. The boot switch is also electric but not opening the boot, so either the power to the switch is missing, the switch contacts are faulty/dirty, or a cable (wire) from the switch to the solenoid control circuit is open-circuit.

Here's a photo of the boot opening switch from inside (trim removed). The black and blue wires go to a plug/socket. Pulling that plug and testing the switch with a continuity tester is easy and will let you know if the switch is the problem. If its fine then the circuit between the plug and the solenoid control circuit needs to be checked.

I hope this helps.

Tried removing the trim but the studs will not come out. Do you have to use brute force or is there a knack?

They can be pretty stiff but I managed to get mine out with a broad bladed strong blunt knife. Google 'trim removal tool' for the ideal tool.

Good luck.
