Car damaged in airport carpark

As per the title, I've only today discovered some damage to the interior of my car. It would seem that somebody forced the ashtray and snapped one of the plastic gears from the cover housing.
The unfortunate thing is that for a boggo spec Octavia the ashtray costs £30, for my wood effect version its £280, the cover is part of the opening/shutting mechanism and cannot be repaired with glue. The panels around the ashtray were loose from the result of the cover popping out when it snapped, but clipped back in.
I've sent a complaint to the airport who seem to operate the car park. How likely is it that the operator will own up and cover the damage?
