I have a 57 plated SLK 350 and have connected my ipod to the command via the cable in the glove box and then have selected AUX but nothing comes through the speakers despite the volume up high and the info from the ipod appearing on the dashboard. Can anyone please suggest what the problem might be.

Sounds odd, worth trying a different ipod and cable. Are you sure it's the correct cable? I know some manufactures have more than one availabe.

Well, it is the one that was already with the car when I bought it so I assumed that the previous owner had had it working but I shall certainly try my wife's pod in there.. It seems strange that all the music info from the pod appears on the dashboard.ok.

Stupid question but have you got the volume turned right up on the I pod?

I had a similar problem with my 2006 slk 55 and after 5 mins realised that although it was coming up as aux on display as the I pod volume was right down i could not hear anything at all

Thank you for your suggestions but I have tried turning the volume up on both the ipod and AUX but still the same - I have even tried my wife's ipod to no effect. It's as if I have to press another button to turn on the sound. The sequence I use is : connect the ipod to cable in glove box, switch the command to AUX, turn the volume right up, the book says press the phone symbol on steering wheel but don't know if this is necessary or not, and it should work. Am I missing something ?
