I was in B&Q on Friday evening with my other half picking up a stand for the Christmas tree. Got back out to the car, leant in and turned the engine on with the intention of letting her idle whilst arranging stuff in the boot.

What I didn't notice was the small child walking about 2 foot from the arse of the car as I turned the engine over. The noise/shock/surprise made him burst into tears instantly!!

His mother was not impressed - I was.

Did something similar with my old wedge. The girl I was with at the time was stood at the side with her 4 year old lad.

I did'nt think it possible to induce tears and wee so quickly.

Yep happened to me this week, when I was in Town, started up and a small boy in a push chair started crying. And I'm only a V6!!

Makes me laugh stuff like this does! I went Christmas shopping at the weekend in Brighton. Upon starting the car up in the multi storey car park afterwards, I scared the crap out of two people behind loading their boot up and also managed to set off two car alarms!!!

Which was nice

The response from my (almost) 2 year old son is "Again! Again! Again! ROAR. Again! Again! Again!"

I have high hopes

My nephew (almost 2 years old) says "wrooom wrooom wrooom ..." when something loud passes by. He clearly identifies a TVR as Teve.

Good to see that fellow PHers are bringing up children in the proper manner (with an appreciation for all things loud that have a penchant for murdering hydrocarbons).

Let's hope that these are the politicians of the future and that the ongoing shafting of the British motorist finally comes to an end...

Health and Saftey regulations now require all cars that cause Children to cry to carry a Goverment Health warning

" This car may cause small children to cry, stricly no children with 5 meters "

There are similar rules in relation to Old age pensioners (who have a delicate constitution)

" This car may cause old people to pee their pants" (or worse)

I say we should De-cat the cars as well, this will make grown ups cry.... excellent !!!!!!

Children are cruel.

My daughters (age 9 and 7) were being bullied by a so called school friend. While I was tinkering they manouvered the little blighter until he was about a foot from my exhaust just as they saw me turn the key.

He wet his trousers and I had to tell them off while laughing. Soon as they told me why they'd done it I rewarded them with ice-cream.

Genius. That's just showing ingenuity.

Hope you get out of that Alumininum tube soon, Flintstone. Doesn't sound very comfortable.

My neice has just turned one and for her birthday her father bought her her first car.
Fetching pink number with personalised plates.
She roars round the living room making appropriate noises, for a prospective Tiv owner of the future.

She does not cry when I start up Griffy. Just grins!

'thats ma girl!'

Thanks for being concerned about my welfare Brock. As you're worried I can let you know I'm moving into a bigger aluminium tube as we speak/type.

Much more comfy

Lake managed to set off a few children while we were in the Parade du Pilot at Le Mans last year

My eldest daughter loves the sound (giving it the whole "faster, faster" thing, she doesn't like Speed 6s or Ferraris exhaust notes those, those get her upset.

Bit worried mind as she asked for an electric motorbike for her third birthday, have to steer her back to 2 wheels...
