996.2 gt3 @£51k

As owner of a similar low mileage gt3 I'm pleased to see this

There have been many threads about how hard is it to find a good 996 gt3... None up for sale etc etc

Well here's one in good spec - will be interesting to see how quickly it goes as I think that price is a new high watermark?

Drove mine over the alps yday and into Provence. Cheap at the price !

911 (esp. RS/GT) market seems to be on a perpetual march upwards with bigger prices being asked day after day. As an enthusiast I feel it's a bit of shame as we could see less of these cars out and about and models you wanted to own at some point become truly unobtainable. For example IMO you certainly don't see as many 996RS on track as you used to, I really hope this doesn't happen to the vanilla GT3 as I for one will miss that sound.

The paradox of today's market is that people want the 911 models that are designed with the track in mind but pay most for the examples have never been anywhere near a circuit!

High watermark since when? It is the highest price for a few years so they are on the up, but overall probably only the actual peak since about 2009. Loads of people have paid more than that to buy them to track them over the years.

Still a fair way below where it starts scaring them off the circuits I reckon. It is the £100k+ range that really starts to bite IMHO, but even so - 3.8RS track usage is pretty much at a peak now so there is more to it than that.

From the write-up it looks like a pretty normally specified `Comfort` model from the era with the extended leather package, Litronics and possibly the Tequipment bolt-in half cage.

It sounds good and IMHO the price is just reflecting the drag effect from the other 996RS models in the current market.

Its in a great colour and I guess if its well sorted (as it sounds) it wont hang around too long...

Similar to the spec. of mine, so the new owner wont be disappointed.

Yep - considering the price of other GT3/RSs and some of the air cooled performance orientated cars, these are a bit of a bargain in my opinion...and as Colin above highlights the price point does make them a lot more usable
...just came back in after a a little spirited drive in mine...and in the context of the rest of the market, I would happily pay a lot more for it
(not trying to talk up a book...but just reflecting how good I think they are)

Yep totally agree that they are the bargain of the GT3 stable. Did Brands GP and Castle Combe this week - car just epic! In it's element.



Rising values at some point will make me think twice when on track. There is someway to go obviously, but the reason I bought one in the first place was didn't want to think about 10% excess calculations whilst bombing round Pouhon! I take the point it depends on your situation entirely, I just hope we always have 996 GT3s on track as I don't know what else I would drive.

996.2 GT3 in red look the business and I'm sure it will sell quickly, comfort or not.

A couple of years ago there was a Yellow one in this exact spec at 911V but with 16k miles, and that was £41k. Prices very much on the rise!

There were 2. A higher mileage one (circa 40?) whixh a lad and dad posted on here about for a while. Then another with 16k miles ehich I bought for 40 and a bit. It did indeed have new tyres, brakes etc and remains in excellent condition, now showing 22k miles. Next up, Europe trip in September via Spa.

I think that was 911p, There were two SY ones at 911V I snapped up the Clubsport one just prior to 911p with 46K on it, it's now at 55K miles running on Cup 2s and has had the 10K refresh so must be priceless. Cant resist a quick pic

Lovely colour! RPMTechnik sold a similar Clubsport one with around 16k on the clock for something like £45k last summer if memory serves.

Yes they did I originally went for that car asking them to contact the owner and see if he wanted to sell but I then went off and bought an RS instead.
Stirred up enough interest for them to get a sale from it though.

21 Sep with RMA I am afraid.

I was recently considering putting the Michelin Pilot Sport cup 2's on (or whatever the new hybrid tyre is that mixed the cup with some water clearing ability) but they come with so little tread and I feel little need to have more grip I have just put Pilot sports on again, a great tyre on this car that can do it all in my view.

The Cup2's come with more thread on than the old Cups. They also seem to be wearing significantly longer judging by the recent results from Mike (S&C) and Nick (Nxi). They now appear to be a viable option as a true UHP road and track tyre. Definitely getting some for mine.
