MOT'ing Early

Im selling a car that has MOT until December, a potential buyer wants a years MOT -the way I read the gov.uk website is that I can't get a new MOT until 1 month before expiry.

Anyone able to shed any light on MOT'ing early and if it can be done?

If my understanding is right it can be done at any time, but if you want a year on top of the existing MOT it has to be within the final month.

You can MOT whenever you like, but just won't get the additional time added on if it's outside the one mth before

The one month is only to the earliest to keep the same renewal date for next year - it's quite useful to give you a month heads-up on any work needed before it expires.

I'm sure you can MOT a car anytime even if it has a current certificate.
