WARNING: V8's are bad for children

I was in B&Q on Friday evening with my other half picking up a stand for the Christmas tree. Got back out to the car, leant in and turned the engine on with the intention of letting her idle whilst arranging stuff in the boot.
What I didn't notice was the small child walking about 2 foot from the arse of the car as I turned the engine over. The noise/shock/surprise made him burst into tears instantly!!
His mother was not impressed - I was.
