How Much does your insurance cost?

just want to get an idea here if there are any regional variations in the cost of insurance for the Cerb..i know London is very expensive.


i myself paid £1150,to PEART associates, on the 99 4.5..i'm in Manchester and 35 years old, with a clean licence..(well for now that is)

i sometimes look down at that speedo, and i can be shocked by how much faster you are going than you think you are...

Cerb's rule....and other TVR's of course..

I live in Brighton and got mine through Churchill online (10% discount) and paid £780 for the year (up front) for a 4.2 Cerb.

Clean Licence, 33yrs, Full NCD. I also opted for the Protected NCD and legal cover otherwise it would have only been £660

thats quite surprising rearly, i mean if you took the unprotected cover that makes yours half of what i'm paying..

how much diffrence can there be between the 4.2, to 4.5. they are both group 20 arn't they?
i suspect that Manchester is a greater risk area also. but £600, i'm crying now as i type this

I live in Herne Bay, Kent, I pay £1100,30 years old, 5 years no claims, fully comp, legal cover and it is parked on the road for a speed six w reg, Bell Direct.

Clean licence, 70% no claims, 27, rural Worcestershire with a 4.2, £650pa covering 12,000 miles, class 1 business use and 20 days European.

No trackday cover sadly...

£1300 with only 1 years NCB(!) on a £25k 98 4.5. 28 years old, based in Sussex. I dont have a Cerb, but have the quote from sunninghill

I'm 35 and have a '98 4.5 garaged in Herts. 5 yrs NCB protected with legal cover, £630 with Privilege for me and my missus. Only added her cos premium went down, she'll never drive it,

IIRC, Privilege, Direct Line and Tesco are all the same group, so should all give similar quotes.

I called Norwich Union, there's a chap there who has a thing about Cerbs (photos on his bedroom wall, etc) and gave me a great discount (about £600, second car so no NCB, Business cover, wife & I to drive, Cambridgeshire) I REALLY wish I got his name, got a MUCH higher quote two weeks earlier from someone else, like almost double. Shows the flexibility these firms have.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Ive always insured my TVRs on my dad's policy since I got my 1st one at 22. Just never got round to changing it. Current Cerb is £690 with Direct Line, fully comp, 4000mpa. Thats with 70%!? NCD for 5+ years. Premium will be same if insured in my name (37 now, mutter)& DL confirmed they are willing to transfer the NCD into my name at renewal.

Will have to get a Brighton Cerb meet going and let Eastbourne Bob come over for a ride

If I had a Cat 1 alarm it would have been 50 quid less and the protected part cost about 60 quid I think (10%).

4.2 in West Mids - insured through Peart - full NCB, 9 points on licence from 01 so still on there but not counting now. 41 yrs old. £550. They have also just mirrored my NCB on an additional policy for a discovery

Most other companies wanted at least £4000!
