Plug extension/suppressor

Are these a disposable item or are they a must fit?

I think the card need something, ive seen some people mention using heat socks with varying degrees of success, i think youd burn the leads to pieces without the plug elbows.

I tried the heat socks (inexpensive type) and the plug leads got fried so had to go back to the extenders. I am still of the opinion it is not a good idea to put extra resistance into an electrical circuit!

When I broke a couple of extenders I mulled this over, The resistance of the longest lead is over 4 times the average 5K ohms of the extenders. And we're talking kV from the coil so the overall resistance isn't that big a deal.

I replaced the extenders in the end but found that if you have to, you can run the front 2 cylinders without them and the HT leads don't touch the manifolds.

You can get away with running the front 4 without extenders, but for the back 4 they are a must, or some of the decent socks. If you don't then you will need a standing order with your HT lead supplier!!!

I believe that the only extenders available now are non-resistor so this should no longer be a factor if replacing the originals.

That's were I got mine from, beware though, they're a very tight fit !
