Proposed Euro trip itinerary - thoughts welcome

This is our second year doing a European road trip - planned to be a once a year must do. This year's trip has been extended from last year's week to 10 days. Am particularly looking forward to the GT3 with its new M&M exhaust
We are thinking of the following and would welcome any thoughts:

Day 1 Eurtunnel, go to Reims and then onto Dijon via D396/D996
Day 2 Dijon to the Alps drive time 5 hours
Day 3 do the alpine passes - Grimsel, Susten, Furka, Gottard.
Day 4 out of the alps drive to the Riviera via Monaco drive time 5 hours under 300 miles
Day 5 spend on the Riviera. Bit of driving up one of the Colls where the car launches take place eg col de vence
Day 6 to Villefort via the Gorges 4 hours drive
Day 7 Villefort to Ripoll 4-5 hour drive
Day 8 In the Pyrenees up to Tremp incl Col de Tosa
Day 9 In the Pyrenees to Vielha
Day 10 Via the Pyrenees to Santander ferry (4 hours drive). Boat at 2115 hours

Trying not to overdo the driving and allow time to enjoy the place.

what way do you exit switzrtland to Monaco ?

personally i like some of the less obvious passes like Simplon and Del Bernino.

Yes we did Simplon and some epic roads around Davos last year. The shame is we stumbled upon them unplanned so don't even know what they were.

2 choices exiting the alps. The faster route I think is to go down via Milan to Genoa then along the coastal route. My preference is to go via chamonix and annecy where we've had some great summers with our kids. Play it by ear depending on how we're feeling.

I've just returned from 3800 mile drive. London to Ayamonte and back again, with a two week holiday in between.
I too used some of Jackals route, and borrowed his older style SatNav ( thanks Richard) to load the Itinery planning.
I hope your planning on leaving after the kids have gone back to school, because the holiday traffic in some places is horrendous
I can recommend the N152, but can be confusing as its also marked as the N260, in places. Tbh, even if you take a wrong turn, all the roads are great, but some of the smaller roads have a poor surface, and are very narrow.
One place I highly recommend is the Cevennes National Park. I visited this, to stay at the prettiest and well run farm house, over looking the Millau Viaduct.
Le Rozier, in the park, is the most stunning and beautiful place I've visited. It's like the Chedder Gorge, but 1000 times bigger, and stunning. Full of medieval castles, hanging off the side of rock faces, tiny twisty streets. The Area is called the Gorges Du Tarn.
When I left the N152, at Puigcerda, in the Pyrenness and headed up towards the Millau Viaduct, I used the N116, an excellent road, that runs forever, called the Route Historique en Terre Catalane all the way to Perpignan.

Thanks for this - could I get a name/website for the farmhouse in cevennes?

Does anyone know how to take routes on a sat navigation and simply reverse the direction? Richard has very helpfully put up all the routes from his travels on his site but we are equally unhelpfully doing the journey the other way around. I have an old tomtom which allows itineraries

Day 1 will have to be done in a 396, followed by a 996. Those are the rules according to the Meister.

I too was travelling in the other direction on the way down. If you use Tyre to Travel, ( only works with windows) double click on Jackals files, after you've loaded Tyre to Travel, these will plot on the program, then change the direction, its that easy

you cab load itn files in tyre and select all teh WP's and click reverse route
