ok so not sue if this will take of, But thought i would start one. A thread for ridiculously priced cars you have come across. Be it a Aston Martin or Ford Escort. I will start the ball rolling. Was looking for a cheap runabout for the wife. She liked her mums Nissan Almera, so had a look. Came across this!

Maybe they think the low miles adds to the premium? Who knows, but I agree - would give them less than half that amount.

I dunno; there won't be many of them left now, and the chassis is probably the best front driver since the Pug 309. Add that to the low mileage and the fact that it's probably the best looking Nissan since the Pulsar and I can understand why it would attract a premium.

I'm far from an expert in FWD chassis, but aren't the likes of the Integra and RS Megane more highly thought of?

Its an automatic, cars of that sort of size and class with low miles and autobox are ussually in fair demand and almost allways fetch a premium price.

Low miles in stop/start city traffic isn't really that good. I have friends who live in Central London and most of them barely cover 6-8k in their cars. I'd say 4k is the norm.

I sold an Almera of that shape (albeit not automatic) for £1500 less, and that was 8 years ago!

E39 M5's have been holding their value for a while, and good ones can fetch a fair bit, but i think this guy is being a tad optimistic

This is a good case in point. Nine years old, a Cat D, on stty aftermarket alloys (seriously, those wheels are terrible!) and he thinks it's worth £2,850. The next similar car is over £1,000 cheaper

Sometimes men get pressure from the other half pushing you to sell - so put it up for a high price, its physically up for sale and highly unlikely to sell of it does you've got a great price if not other half is happy you are listening and have tried to sell.


Or it could be this guy loves the car and wouldn't consider any offer below asking price - its his P&J and he would rather keep it than let it go for silly low ball offers. /doesn't need to sell so put it up for this price if you get a bite happy days if not no big issue.
