Mk7 Golf GTD...new here.

Hello to all,

I have taken out my first lease on a Golf GTD through Leaseplango, thanks to reading about these deals on the forum.I am really pleased with it 900 miles in,it handles well,looks good and even sounds nice when pushed,i previously owned a Honda Accord which i sold to WWAC and was easy enough.I did look at the Golf R at the time but realised at 10k miles per year the fuel cost would be too high for me.

I will try and post some photos up as i know how popular diesel Golf's are here.

Yes i agree Jonah, never had a Golf before so hopefully it will prove a good choice.

You'll need to explain that one. It's obviously (a) very different from and (b) worse than a Golf R except for better mpg and being FWD (I think).

Hi Ord

I think he means from a practical point of view regarding the Golf r,i use the car for work as well so an extra £2k or more on fuel would not work for me,fine if your doing 5000 miles a year but to me that is an underused car anyway,i would get one if things were different.

A good car in isolation. Does what it says, but not interesting enough for a complete new thread when there is at least 1 other I can think of.

But is this what GG has become? A chance to show of your long-term rented diesel vehicle?

I can get two weeks or more from a tank in the GTD, near 60mpg on motorway if needed.

Golf r would be a tank a week easy, you don't buy a car like that to break 35mpg for kicks.

Lad at work has had one for these for a year (or 2?) now as a company car and he seems to really like it, hes not very into cars though! If you want a fast diesel hatch its one of the best choices i think.

Give the guy a break! It's a good car; he's proud of it; he wanted to share that with fellow car enthusiasts. It's his damn business how he pays for it.

Still, should've gone for the GTI :-)
