Has anyone experienced this before (‘96 Griff 500)?
Symptoms:
1. At low revs/idle the engine often noticeably goes "out of tune"
2. Applying throttle, the engine clears itself at precisely 3500 revs every time.
3. Alternatively, just letting the car idle (when out of tune) will often result in the revs gradually rising as though it is labouring a little and suddenly the engine comes back into tune, the revs rise to say 1300 momentarily and then settle back to a normal 900 ish.
Peninsula very kindly had a quick look as I was passing yesterday. They think it is a fuelling issue rather than electrical. The fuel pressure was low but correcting that has not solved it. A combination of their workload and mine means I can’t get the car to them until well into January so thought I’d see if anyone has any ideas and whether there is anything I could try. Thanks in advance.
