P.S. I don't mean this as a Pana beats 300D thing, just that if you havn't got the money to splash out on a 300D + good quality lens, look at the alternative!

The FZ-20 is very good but . .

DSLR has a much larger sensor area though, leading to much lower noise, and the ability to shoot at higher ISO/lower light. And of course you can stick difference lenses on the end. And it's got a TTL viewfinder.

I know all that, but that's not what my point was.
But... you get most of the lenses you need built in, and you can always add a macro or teleconverter.

I agree, the FZ-20 is a great bit of kit.
