Are disc rotors standard size and fit so interchangeable

You need to make sure it's the same size (180mm in your link) and the same hub fitting (6 bolt in your link). Some rotors can be thicker than others although they are all supposed to be the same

Those XT ones are designed for hydraulic systems. Not sure if that makes a difference though.

What Gren said but i'd look at superstar first, their pads and discs are pretty good value for money. i cant imagine carerra would use anythign other than std 6 bolt pattern. they also sell the adaptors for the caliper mounts should you wish to go from 160 to 180 to 203mm discs

Yes any 160 x 6bolt will work. Just get a cheapy off ebay, XT is a bit overkill but pretty so someone might nick it

I don't know why but I had great respect for Tonker.
However I am pretty sure he just asked whether a circle of 180mm diameter would fit interchangeably with a circle of 160mm diameter.

You need to have a look at your current rotors.
Many come with Shimano centrelock.
This means even if it is a standard 6 bolt it might be attached to a central spider that can't be undone.
In this case you want a centrelock replacement such as this:

AND you will need the standard shimano cassette tool to undo the bloody thing and swap it.

A small adjustable spanner works very well, the jaws are parallel so you get a nice flat grip and you can get away with very little clamping force to avoid scoring the surface.

It won't be centrelock, 'tis 6-bolt. (I've a similar braked subway too, must get it sold on)
