Has anyone seen any of these out on the road yet?

I've not seen one at all let alone the 235i... Too many Golf Rs and GTDs around!

Anyone got any real world pics to post up or has one and care to share?

Semi- amusing short story about one.

Test drove a red one, top spec, at Sytner Harold Wood, rather nice receptionist took me out in it (all salesguys were busy as it was a "VIP" event). Drove it like I stole it along country roads, had back out controllably on a few bends and used the full rev range.

Great fun, although unjustified in terms of cost, room and type at the moment.

Anyhoo, fella down my road has just bought it and it is sitting on his drive. Pootles up the road in it (thankfully, kids and dogs around) and I can't help give it a knowing look every time I walk past it.

Not amusing at all really, with hindsight.

saw a pretty basic one the other day, it was on the other side of the carriageway so I couldn't see the exact spec. Nothing special, just blended in with all the other bland German boxes.

I've seen more around than I have Golf R's, but then I tend to look out for the 2 Series, whereas to me the R is just another Golf. Having said that I did see a Golf R on lunch just now, being driven like a pleb undertaking people round roundabouts going up the Hagley Road.

From what I've seen the M235i / 2 Series M Sports are lovely looking cars, as is common with BMW's recently though, the SE looks a bit....wrong.

I did look at a 228i M Sport when I was buying the 125i, but the wait was too long (which may be affecting the number on the roads), and engine was lacking cylinders for me. Lovely looking little cars though.

My manager has one, looks quite nice.
Think (close though) I prefer it over the old one series

I've seen 1 235i and a couple of 220d I was dissapointed to see BMW not fitting xenons as standard like they did on the 3 coupe and 4 coupe. ( although they didn't on the 1 coupe either )

Yes I think the 235i just has the edge looks wise over the older 135i but until I see one in the flesh rather than online I can't really compare!

Seen one parked up, that's about it. The 4 series is more of a head-turner IMO

I suspect the less controversial styling (and size) of the 2-series makes them blend in with the many 3-series on ours roads.

Standard on the M235i though.

They were an £800 option on my old 135i Coupe IIRC.

Someone where I work has 1 218d I think.

Saw it being delivered, looked at it the other day and it's already been reversed pretty hard into a lamp post and bumpers have been dragged across someone else's car too.

Poor thing

I rather fancy an M235 with the locking dif. Does anyone know if there are any good deals around? I find the BMW website hopeless.

I've seen a few, like most modern BMW's they are very colour dependent, there's a black 235i in our village with all if the optional M stuff like Harris has, nice like.

Yep, there are a few around. I've seen a few in the Avis fleet on site as well.

Not impressed by how all new BMWs seem to come with an ///M badge on the wing. This is from a 2-series:
