Mid-engined car for Autotests and Drfiting fun??

Im looking to get a road car which i can enjoy and use for the above
i have seen some midengined cars that temp me, but am thinking they may not be as suitable or as chuckable as the regular FR layout. Ive never owned MR car, only FR (and RR)
I know that mid-engined are supposed to be hard to drift also
I like the feel and controllability of FR so would i find midengined less fun?

I suspect you would find mid-engined cars less fun, yes.
Mid-engined cars tend to have a lower moment of inertia. This means they have more tendency to rotate... whether you want them to or not. It makes them quicker to turn when you want them to, but also quicker to rotate when you don't, making them harder to hold at a given angle past the limits of grip.

Cornering before you get over the moment of inertia is unbeatable though.

probably FR is the layout that would suit more. But i do love the stratos kits, lotus europa (old one not new heavy barge), ginetta g12 etc
