Registering colour change.

I've resprayed my car a different colour. It's nearly, but not currently back on the road as it's mid rebuild.
I'm shipping it abroad with me when I move, so thought best to keep everything above board.

Do I just fill in a bit of my V5 stating the colour change and pop it in the post? If anyone has done this, do they require any proof? I've googled a bit from my phone just this second as its just popped into my head. I'll get back on the case soon, but I thought first hand experience might prevail.
