I thought the summer shutdown for the F1 teams was a complete shutdown. Nothing happening at all.

So why did I see 2 Caterham F1 team trucks on the A40 today?

IIRC the 2 weeks are of the team’s choice during a period of about a month. I could be wrong. Also they could have sent there kit, such as the transporters, away to be serviced by an outside contractor whilst they are lying on a beach…

A bit early?

I think the 14 day shutdown had to begin either on 28th July or 4th August, so if Caterham chose the former, they have been back at work for a week. Anyone who started later, MGP for instance, recommence tomorrow.

Maybe they were Westfield trucks? Easy to tell apart when stationary but on the move at speed on the motorway - could easily be mistaken for Caterham trucks.

No, they were Caterham F1 Team trucks. They were going slow as they were at the roundabout at Burford.
