Reet this crimble we have a polish bloke coming over, which my step mothers, sisters, son met in the states and became friends. This chappie has no family, so it coming over to us.

The question is, what do we get him as a gift? Say up to a tenner but don't know if he drinks or not. The bloke is in his 20's.

Any suggestions?

Dunno what you could get him, but you should be set for pressies though. What does he sell, Zymol or AutoGlym? Does he have free samples?

Don't know about a present for him but get him to bring you some krupnic (not sure of spelling) It's a Polish honey vodka, it's really cheap and tastes ......

He's polish. A couple of cans of lighter fluid should suffice

Given that all advice was ignored last time, you may as well just go ahead and get one.

Why the hell are you involved. I could easily have a step-mother's, sister's, son's friend and wouldn't even know it!

How about something 'English' to remind him of his visit? If he drinks, a bottle of Beefeater Gin perhaps. If he doesn't, well, think gift shop... eg tin of shortbread, stick of rock, Brit-flavoured afershave, or souvenir for his mantlepiece etc... basically things he can't get in Poland.

I know he's Polish, but don't you think that's a bit harsh?

You could say, "I thought about getting you a present, but decided not to get you one. Well, it's the thought that counts isn't it?"
