tuning 997 4s gen 1

I bought a 997 4S a few months ago and am very happy with the car. Uses little oil and goes well especially on the autobahn in Germany. It has now gone 42000 miles. Does anyone have advice or experience regarding tuning this engine? I have been in touch with DMS who claim to be able to produce approx 400 hk without any problem. Would particularly like to know about engine wear problems, oil consumption, and fuel mileage. Unfortunately upgrading to a turbo or later 997 gen 2 is not an option at present.
