I apologise if this has been posted before but I was watching the GT-R vs. 458 Speciale clip when i spotted they also had run an M5 vs GT-R track test so thought i'd post this up.

Although i've never driven the MY14 GT-R, i did own a MY10 for about 18 months & i upgraded that to an SVM 650R spec. I had some track time in my old car alongside my new car at Anglesey Circuit just a few weeks ago. You can see both cars on the below photo taken trackside.

The GT-R is & always will be quicker round a track if driven by the same driver under the same conditions, however even around Anglesey, their were a couple of places where i was able to carry more speed in my M5 & although my old GT-R has aftermarket brakes, stock vs stock the M5's brakes are a lot better & as per the video, the drive is quite a bit more involving in the M5.

Prohaps the M6 CP would make a more even competitor , but that track is full of tight turns putting the M5 at a distinct disadvantage IMO.

Not sure an M6 would be much quicker as similar size & weight. What did make the biggest difference was the tyres. Both cars were on MPSS but i genuinely believe they are a better performing tyre on the M5 than the GT-R as not an OEM tyre on the Nissan & the wear rate of the MPSS on the GT-R was significantly higher than on the M5.

Will be taking mine to Nordschleife & Spa in a couple of weeks so keen to see how she performs on a much wider/faster track.
