Best Limited Mileage Insurer?

Any ideas, as I am getting stiffed at the moment, and not doing the miles that I did in the last.

Added 16" fronts told insurers (to stay legal) - extra 120 od quid! Huge brakes - no extra!

Thinking of limiting to 5k. The limited mileage people do not seem that fussed about mods (well if you tell them they make a note but does not really effect price).

Try Adrian Flux, they seem to be better than most about sorting out 'modified' car insurance. Certainly didn't baulk much about my bike insurance, where there are fairly extensive mods. Also, if you explain 16" rims were standard on later cars (presume you're running 16" 500 wheels), you might knock the price down.

An aside, but what brakes did you go for?

I was with Footman James, very good service all round, now with Peart and no complaints with either. Both limited milage (4,500/5,000) and used to dealing with TVR's

Peart a no go on big engines - is that 265,000 miles right fro your Griff?

My tiv insurance is currently through Sunninghill, haven't had a major hike and have engine mods + nitrons.

Do they know ALL your engine mods?

The 5.7litre engine seems to be the problem.

Classicline - no extra for Griff with 17" wheels, induction kit, shocks, etc
Not sure about Chevy engines tho'

Manning said 450 engine size didn't matter for premium calculation as I could kill myself just as easily as with 400!!! I suspect it's the word "modified" they make their money on. Factory "upgrades/specification changes" aren't worth so much.

Reduced mileage is a significant cost reducer however they still pointed out that you can write one off in less than a mile!!

Just worked out I am insured with them (Under their Ian Fray side on TR!) - and they have come back with a quote that is about what I am paying now (unlimited and stiffed on 1" bigger wheels) - so will go with this when done.

Any one wants my spot on 500 engine between now and feb let me know - sensible offers.

All up front payment though! No monthly installments and grand excess. But still a good deal.
