Manchester to Berkshire

Hi All,

I can't wait until Tuesday.....collecting my new toy!!!

So the plan is to fly or catch train to Manchester and then drive back to Berkshire, near Windsor!

The car is located near Manchester airport and if the weather is good, I would prefer taking A&B roads...............so what are my options? I think I will probably be heading back from Manchester at around lunchtime.

Thoughts and advice please.

A56 past chester, turn south, down mid wales for as long as you like, turn left.

The alternatives (via peaks) aren't really very good because although there are some great peaks roads, you'd not be on them long before stoke, brum etc.
