Police Cars and Parking

Outside my office window is a one hour parking zone, there has been a fully marked up Police Omega parked for more than 2 hours. The car is slap bang in the middle of 2 parking spaces in a display of expert parking that could only be matched by my gran. The worst part is that someone else has just got a ticket because they were parked half in half out of the bay.

So are Police cars excempt from parking restrictions?

Yes.

They can even park on the zig zags of a pelican/zebra crossing if it's warranted.

However, bad parking doesn't set a good example and leads to people who have nothing better to do, other than whing about the police, write in to places and complain.

I always try to park my car properly and responsibly, if only to protect the member of the public who might approach me to complain...

If i was on an Emercall, say something like Suspects on etc i dont really mind where i abandon the car.

Once i know what is going on, the car will be moved asap.

Oh, and sometimes Police cars (and bikes) do break down.

In the example given, if i saw a Police car parked as such, there no way that i would try to squeeze in next to it..........silly thing to do really

I would - but then a smartie tends to fit in such places with ease (as well as always finding a space in the multi story where the joists block half spaces too - lol)

not really on topic, but i got a knock on the door Wed night to see a very attractive lady asking if I minded if she left her car over my drive for a while, as she needed to visit a sick friend and couldn't see anywhere to park.

car? 04 reg Bentley Continental GT I told her she could leave it there all night as far as I was concerned! lovely looking thing! (as was the car)

If so...get em photographed and get 'em reported...

If it's true...if fooking disgraceful...and I'd be surprised if that is where they are going..Not because I don't think a BiB would be so unprofessional, but because I wouldn't expect a BiB to play into a Victor Meldew type complaint.
