On my 981s (2012 car) the phone is still useable with the pcm, but on my cayenne ( end 2013) the PCM takes control of the phone via remote sim which means I can't do anything on the phone if it's blue tooth connected . Means text messages come to screen and are not on phone as well, a pain

Anyone know if you can stop remote sim and have control of phone ?

This is going to be a hell of a thread resurrection, but I can't find any others on the subject and rather than start a new one when this asks the exact question I have, I thought I'd see if anyone had found a way?

It's quite annoying that when the phone is connected to PCM3 for calls, it basically switches off the phone's data so I can't use it for Waze etc. Would be great if there's a way around this but I'm assuming not.

You need to change the connection protocol from rSAP to HFP ( hands free protocol)
I believe this option came with a software update, or in my case, with no updates ever having been done, code the pcm to not have a telephone module and HFP takes over. Need to know someone who can code the modules to make it happen, its not diy-able.

Heres the old thread that explains it better.
Edit
I’m sure i had a different thread to that one, but i think the code to remove was 666 or similar, when my indy tried that at my request, the bluetooth connection screen showed HFP instead of rSAP that was showed previously.
