Hello Cerb people 
I recently traded in my trusty Griff for a Cerb and now after a couple of weeks' ownership thought I'd pop in a say hello to the regulars.
And like a typical newbie go on for a couple of paragraphs about crackles and pops, awsome acceleration etc etc.
But here's the thing I wasn't really expecting. Apart from the fact that I really didn't expect quite so much of a symphony from the exhaust on the overrun, I can't believe how much more attention a Cerb seems to attract than a Griff. My old Griff was far from discreet. Decatted and sleeved exhaust meant it was very difficult to ignore. But I guess the profile that a Griff makes on the road, especially from a distance, stands out a little less than the Cerb. There's no doubting that it must be very difficult to use a Cerb in anger on the road without being noticed
My other question - How long will it take me to muster up the bollocks to take it up to the gear change light?
Oh and another thing. Two weeks' ownership and nothing has broken. Stick that in your pipe ind smoke it all you unbelievers

I think the difference between a cerb and a grif is that a cerby looks like a supercar, whilst the grif looks like a british sports car (if you know what I mean?), i.e. it looks so low to the ground etc and there is nothing else that looks like it on the road.
In the summer there is no issue taking it to the gear shift light, (well after a month of ownership when you have got used to the power), as when you hit 5000 plus thats when she really wakes up! However in this weather I'm struggling to use half the revs before the back wheels start spinning. This has been happening in 3rd gear at 3000 rpm slightly pressing the go pedal, god knows what will happen to my tyres giving it full boost!

Excellent choice in car upgrade
Beware of the awesome power of these motors, esp this time of year with these greasy roads, as its very easy to step the back end out if not careful...have fun (silly grins in these motors are part of ownership!).. and hopefully yours will be as trouble free as mine has been.

In the summer under a long bridge in 2nd a few times just to see if the buzzer actually worked. You have to do it at least once to be sure it works

When the grip is good, a second gear overtake can often be forthcoming with a buzzing reminder.
Better still, get yourself to a VMax event: try out the buzzer in second, third and fourth.

I can say I have never had the gear change light on the public roads, however, on the track is different. Especially when drag racing a scoobie/evoVIII/Skyline and the adrelenin kicks in and you wring every ounce of performance out of it.
BTW, welcome to the club - use it as much as you can, it'll reward you for it.
I'm amazed there are people that haven't redlined their car!?
Third gear is best for the job, in the dry/dryish obviously.
Nothing like redlining 3rd and getting a good change into 4th, keeping your toe down.
Silly speeds very quickly. TBH the Cerbera is only a truly fast car when taking it to the redline although plenty quick enough in normal use too .

Welcome to the fold! It took me a good 6 months before i took it up to the gear change light, and even now i only do it on special occasions (like for example racing Oggs in his Chimaera
) Can only echo the warning about the roads though. I had my first real scary moment the other day when pulling out from a junction on a slightly damp road - the back end just went completely!

There is a volume control apparently (within the dashboard): perhaps someone has had it turned down at some point.
You're right, the dash top needs to come off to get to it, on mine it sits behind the tacho.....although it's redundant, as the buzzer itself is naffed!!

Congratulations on the Cerb, hope you enjoy it. As well as a good blat around the countryside I particularly like taking mine to Tescos, pulling into the 'parent and child spaces' and getting scowls looks of disaprovals from the other mums n dads...then watching their faces as 2 kids jump out the back. Great shopping car!
Do you still get along to the Herts and Beds meet? Haven't been for a long time...will have to try and pay a visit again soon.

Yes, we're still hanging around on Harpenden Common every second sunday in the month. Good job there's no public toilets or we'd all have been arrested for loitering by now
