I've decided to get a Sony RX100, struggling with the choice between the models though.

Given that the Mk I is available for less than £300, is the Mk III actually worth spending more than twice as much?

Is the Mk II a good balance between the two ?

I think the MKII is the best balance, this will help: http://www.dpreview.com/products/compare/side-by-s...

The MKIII loses out on a bit of zoom, but you gain a faster lens - f1.8 to 2.8 as opposed to f1.8 to 4.9. MKIII also adds a built in viewfinder. If that doesn't matter you may as well get the MKII.

Mk 1 or Mk3. Mk2 was a half way house.... Mk 1 with bells.

Budget dependent.
