Smart watches v Jewellery watches
Discussion
Got to confess I haven't worn a watch for years as there is simply no need to use one to tell the time thanks to all the modern appliances that will tell you that whilst doing something else.
Of course watch makers have recognised this as well, so modern watches are more jewellery than functional, wealth and judgement statements rather than telling you the time if you really need it.
Problem is for the old fashioned watch is that 2014 is the year of the smartwatch. Presuming they do it right they will be a lot better than a "normal" watch in functionality.
So if smartwatches are the new ipod, iphone, ithingymajig, then can you wear the smartphone and the jewellery phone at the same time without looking a complete dick?
Or will there be a Rolex in 2016 which does both?
I am guessing the Swiss watch houses might be behind the times here.
