2013 Fiesta ST in Spirit Blue. Much envy toward the no doubt unaware young girl driving it at the time. I had a 1.25 Fiesta Ghia, which was pretty impressive at the time.

I swear I read in Octane once about a driving school for journalists and such like with E-Types and Ferraris back in the 60s/70s...

Local guy has a Mini Cooper S.

I like that, as it's totally unnecessary and he could have got the Mini One D like so many others.

Not sure about most PH, but certainly the oddest one I saw regularly was when I lived in Hall Green, Birmingham about 10 years ago.

One of the local instructors used a Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck. Seem to remember the local teenage learners loving it.

One which is reasonably near to me uses a Corsa VXR....I imagine they're probably booked up a lot!

Edit: Just found their website, turns out it's a Corsa VXR Nurburgring edition

Good business I reckon, will attract the punters purely because it's a Cooper and not a D.

I picked a driving instructor solely because he used a mini cooper(1993 reg, it was 1996); fortunately he was pretty good and learning in what is basically a go-kart on the road was ace. fking hell that was a long time ago.

There is (or was) a mazda mx6 (yes, 6) in purple with chequer vinyl all over it used as a learner car around cambridge. I worked above a speed awareness course classroom and it used to park outside most days.

Not ph exactly but a bit "different"

My instructor had an Mk2 XR2, which for an L-plate 17yr old in Essex was just perfect

The other thing you have to think is that a lot of the time, this car is also the instructor's personal car. Therefore they might not want to drive around in some 1.slow stbox, and they might want something a bit more peppy!

A chap not a million miles from here used to run a 355. You were given a drive if you passed your test with him apparently.

In the late 80's there was one called XR Driving School in Peterborough which had a fleet of white mk4 XR3i's.
Lessons with them were twice the cost per hour than other places, people were daft enough to pay for it too

They're 1.6TDi SEs. Neither stupendously powerful or particularly chavvy.
