At football tonight lunged in from side (a bit behind) to poke ball away, mistimed and my studs caught his laces he was sprinting full speed, pulled my leg out at 90 degrees to the right, it made two massive audible pops as I went down. Daz a short intense pain that subsided after 30sec, was very uncomfortable for about 5 min, then just sore to walk and very tender on the inside of knee touch. Now and again when put leg at wrong angle g we take a sharp shooting pain. Currently just RICE'ing will see Physio tomorrow, just wondering if anyone had an idea of what I might have done??

Ruptured MPFL and ACL, with meniscus damage! Good luck.

Can you do this with your knee (with the aid of someone to assist) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xb1lhWX01fc ?

To right, for someone who now has a left knee made of Swiss cheese.

You're doing the right thing getting it looked at. I had an injury from football from years ago and I ignored it. Now at 40, my knee randomly pops and I'm in pain for anything up to a month. I recently had an X-ray which didn't show anything but I think its cartilage or meniscus damage. I have a physio appointment next week and I'm hoping for a scan to find out what is wrong and what can be done.

By chance, it went on me 2 days after my X-Ray and I've spent the last 3 weeks with ice packs, anti-inflamitaries and a knee support. It's stopping me exercising.

Was my diagnosis too frown

Hopefully not that bad. Impressed you can walk on it if ruptured ACL.

9 weeks ago I did something similar. Torn my cartridge and need keyhole surgery. Foot planted and weight carried on. I had felt the pop.
