Did anyone hear Chris Evans this morning?

He said he had to get a minicab to the BBC after he broke down en route. 90 seconds earlier he filled his car with diesel instead of petrol.

He refused to say which car, but seemed quite upbeat despite apparent plumes of smoke coming from it.

Guess this rules out it being one of his expensive cars. He'd probably need compassionate leave if it was one of the 60s cars or the LaFerrari!

It must be something older - newer cars that are made for UL won't fit a diesel nozzle into the filler.

Would the older cars "care" as much, compared to a modern petrol?

To be fair, he is a bit of a tosser.
All that money and he insist on having his Ferraris in recession white?
eta: clearly a wink is required. I'm sure he's lovely really.
Though I never enjoyed his breakfast show.

Also my Ferraris are all painted in special invisible paint yes

And yet I've managed to put diesel in a brand new petrol car. I was half asleep and thought "why the fk doesn't this fit??" so I just aimed the jet of fuel at the hole. Job done. Cost me £200 in repairs laugh

Guess it shows that even the biggest petrolheads can still make that mistake. So far, touch wood, never made that mistake - I always remember I'm driving when I get to the pumps!

Easily done, never done it myself but if you're swapping from one car to another it's only a slip of the mind.

If it was a model T ford it wouldn't mind, I ran min on diesel for a laugh once. Smoked like hell but it was quite happy, you have to get it hot before you change to diesel.

Totally unnecessary. Whether you like him or not, he is not a 'tosser'.

He was never my cup of tea until he gave away the majority of his fortune to charity and respect him further that for charity he shares his car collection via auction.

Personality, yes, I would probably not have him to dinner but 'tosser'? No.

You know him then? Clearly you don't because he is far from.

I have met him at a charity car event and spoken about cars, he was a very charming guy.

That is spectacularly dopey!

Chris Evans did used to be a tosser, but he appears to be a pretty decent bloke now.
