Blackpool Visit
Discussion
Evening all I've never been to Blackpool at, ever. Shock!!! So we've decided to have a few nights away and one of them will be Blackpool. So tomorrow we're heading there. Leaving Friday.
I really want to find out where the TVR factory was. I'm not expecting to see in but to go and visit the birth place of my old wedges would be nice. Her indoors really wants to see around but I've already told her that won't be possible.
Can someone tell me the area or the address. (PM me if you want)
Cheers.

Bristol Avenue, Blackpool FY2 0JF.
If you go during the day several of the TVR businesses run by ex TVR employees will be open.
Surface and Design, Mike Vernon Automotive and DC Trim most likely. The TVR Cafe is in the old admin part of the building further down the road so you can have a bacon sarnie there. The majority of the factory at the back has been demolished but those businesses are all in the TVR buildings fronting the road. I'm sure they'll be happy to let you have a quick look round.
Still something to see.

I had never visited until I went up to Back-Home last September,I spoke the the Guys at Surface & Design who are based in the old factory building and they let me have a look at the work they do which is top quality and they were most welcoming. D & C Trim are also based in the old factory.

How can such fantastic sports cars, built by people who live in council houses, and a factory on a industrial estate situated across from a rubbish tip.
. It bewilders me too Clive.
At least you can see the lights,i believe they are on now, not changed for years but if you've never been to Blackpool you actually be slightly impressed.
. It bewilders me too Clive.Evening. Oi Oi Oi there.
Blackpool - never been ever in my short life time. ! But the hotel was nice. Say nae mare!
Visiting TVR, I met a couple of very nice folk, saw Mr W's office which like a lot of Bristol Ave are now Gym's. But we went for a bit of history, we knew we wouldn't see a lot but those who spoke to us were interesting and welcoming. Ok, it's opposite a dump and at the end of a council street just a stones throw from the Polis station but that's why I just wanted to make the trip. I'm glad I did. Another box ticked. The ladies at the cafe were nice.
All in all, nice wee jaunt. Now cruising Yorkshire for a few days. Pickering to Whitby, always loved those roads even if we did get a bloody puncture outside Harrogate. Pah.
Cheers again.

Sounds like you didn't wander up the street to S&D, Mike Vernon Automotive, D&C Trim and JGR/Lawfield Engineering. The whole block on that side of Bristol Avenue was the factory not just where the Gym and Cafe are....Blackpool - never been ever in my short life time. ! But the hotel was nice. Say nae mare!

We had a good wander around front and back but didn't want to pester too many folk, in saying that there wasn't a lot of folk around to talk too.
I was making light of the fact the place seems to have a few gyms aswell as the Auto and lawnmower guys. LOL
