Driving down the M20 this afternoon on the way to Folkestone ready for tunnel tomorrow when:-

I was in the middle lane overtaking a Polish lorry, as the rear quarter drew level with the lorry front wheel I felt the back end of the car move sideways away from the lorry as if he had tried to pull out and I was sure he'd hit me. No loss of control and no signs of damage as I dropped back behind him and made a note of his reg no and company details.
Overtook him and indicated for him to pull over which he did.

I couldn't believe there was absolutely no damage or witness marks on the bodywork, wheels or tyres, so we shook hands and parted company. The car drove faultlessly to Folkestone where it's in the premier inn carpark ready for Chunnel tomorrow.

Is it possible the movement was due to air pressure between the 2 vehicles alone, personally I wouldn't have thought so

Anyway if that's the only incident this trip I'll be happy

Cheers
Mark

Brave man leaving it there!
Only joking. It'll be fine.
Living in Dover I get lorries pulling stunts like that every time I try using the A20 to or from Folkestone.
One randomly swerved across the carriageway yesterday and very nearly hit my friends 7.5t horse box! He was obviously asleep or having a wxxk!!

As Andy says, it's way of life down here. Rule of thumb is never leave a big enough gap between you and the car in front to allow a lorry to pull out! They're a nightmare.

I've just installed a Roadhawk HD to my daily look at the website and see what they do, they also double up as a track cam

Coming from a biker.. it's easily conceivable that there was a decent crosswind that the truck was shielding you from, and as you've emerged in front of the truck, it's unsettled the car.

On the bike, you actively have to brace for it so that you don't get blown into the 3rd lane the instant you finish overtaking some of the bigger trucks.

Glad all was ok though!

He already told you on 21st August in your "which spares" thread.
He's now on his way to SW France for a week.

Hopefully unaffected by the bow waves of any more lorries.

Now safely established at Hotel de France. Had to take customary picture in front of the hotel.

There was a maroon Tuscan on the train also but didn't get a chance to speak to them

Car was flawless all the way, so looks like it was a bow wave
