What bulbs?

I've just had my dipped beam bulb blow on my car and was wondering what you would recommend replacing it with? I don't want to go down the HID Route; just something a bit brighter and long lasting?

Also, considering the front bumper has to come off and the headlights have to come out, I would like to do all the bulbs at the same time. What Capless Bulbs and H1 bulbs do you recommend?

My experience of high-output bulbs is that they have a shorter lifespan than standards, sometimes significantly so.

FWIW, Osram Nightbreakers or Philips Extreme are very good, depends on your priority; bright lights or long life, I suppose.
